About Daily Play Call

Daily Play Call is an independent, fan-made NFL play-calling game. Every day it gives you one real fourth-quarter drive from an NFL game: the real score, clock, field position and timeouts. You call the plays and each call is graded by win probability, the same way analysts grade coaching decisions.

We built it because the best part of watching a close game is arguing about the play call, and the arguments usually stop at whether the play worked. Here every call is graded on its odds before you see the result, so a smart call that fails still counts.

The game uses public NFL play-by-play and win probability data from nflverse and charting data from FTN Data via nflverse (CC BY-SA 4.0), covering the 2022 to 2026 seasons. New drives from this season are added after each week of games. The method, and its limits, are on how it works.
